        I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Computational Chemistry,UCR, and expecting the graduation in November 2019. What's more, I am a programmer, with an analytical and mathematical bent. Armed with the growth mindset which coined by psychologist Carol Dweck,I am a high self-monitor with huge curiocity for new technologies.

       On the strength of my academic performance at the graduate level, I have substantially relevant work experience with data and coding spanning over three years.Considerable spadework I have been undertaking have paved me the way for entering the industry.

       I am seeking opportunaties to data science/engineering or machine learing engineering position in industry to work outside my comfort zone.

An interactive Movie Search and Recommendation Engine
  • Build an interactive movie recommendation system that supports discovery of unknown movies with desired sentiment arc to go beyond the static ranked list paradigm.
  • Developed a web app as final product,offering registered user movies based on matrix factorizationmethod and unregistered users with contentbased similarities collaborative filtering method.
  • Scraped movie scripts from SpringfieldSpringfiled and Used Lexicon-Based Methods of Sentiment Analysis to analyze scripts of 9000 movies and Applied t-SNE algorithm to reduce dimensionality of each script for visualization.
  • Designed an interactive web page utilizing AJAX technology (HTML, CSS and JavaScript);
  • Technologies used:Flask,Scikit-learn,mySQL,HTML,Boostrap,D3,TuriCreate,Pandas,Numpy,jQuery, Ajax

Home Credit Default Risk:

Kaggle Compitition
  • Made use of 2.89 GB data from kaggle which includes a variety of data--including telco and transactional information to predict bank clients' repayment abilities.
  • Conducted feature engineering by applying min, max, mean, sum and var functions to create features and used feature selection by tree-based feature selection,reducing the number of features from 1000 to 400.
  • Implemenend logistic regression, XGBoost, CatBoost, LightGBM with Stratified KFold methods as base models and evaluated model performance with operating characteristic curve(ROC).
  • Made second-level stackers from base models and submit the one with least Roc of 0.793, Ranking top 19% in the competition.
  • Technologies used: Scikit-learn,Pandas,Numpy,Matplotlib,Seaborn

House Price Prediction:

kaggle Data
  • Developed and implemented Repeat Sale Method to calculate the Real Estate Price Index and Used GARCH model of Time Series to predict the Real Estate Price Index.
  • Preprocessed data set by data cleaning,categorical feature transformation, normalization and feature selection. etc.
  • Used ensemble methods including Random Forest and Gradient Boosting and evaluated model performance via Cross-Validation(K-fold) technique
